TOP SUCCESS STORIES

SAMMY BRUE

Sammy Brue is a prime example of ReverbNation CONNECT in action. The 14 year-old singer songwriter from Ogden, UT was spotted by our Senior Folk Curator in early 2014, we flew out to meet him in October, set up a showcase for him at Hotel Cafe in April, signed a co-management deal with Peter Leak at Red Light in May and brought on Jonathan Levine at Paradigm in August. Sammy's latest single "Once A Lover" premiered on The FADER (add link when it goes live) via ReverbNation CONNECT's The Watch List

GAVIN TUREK

We’ve been obsessed with LA artist Gavin Turek and her disco queen spirit since day one. She is one of the first artists to join CONNECT. In the past year, CONNECT has been vital in creating opportunities to help shape Gavin’s career. Last spring, we invited her to kick off Coachella at Flood Magazine’s Floodfest. She performed alongside A-list artists like Chromeo, Com Truise and Warpaint at the coolest party in the desert. The night was packed to the brim with tastemakers, industry and music fans alike. CONNECT also assisted Gavin with writing her bio, signing to SESAC, attracting the attention of publishers and labels and ultimately, signing with CAA, one of the best booking agencies in the world. This summer, we helped support the release of Gavin’s solo work and her mini album release with Brainfeeder’s top beat maker TOKiMONSTA. Their album You’re Invited was accompanied by sold out nation wide dates and  received love from KCRW, Spin, Billboard, The Fader, NPR, Revolt TV, and Vice to name a few. Gavin was also invited to perform at CONNECT’s biggest event, the AfterDark series at the Art Institute in Chicago. She played in one of the most beautiful, unique spaces in the country to a sold out crowd of 1200 people and blew their socks off. Immediately after, Gavin embarked on a 15 date tour with one of LA’s hottest producers, Goldroom, hit up CMJ, and ended the tour with a sold out hometown date in support of the rising soul singer Andra Day.

GOLDEN AGE

New York based baroque-pop trio Golden Age is brand new, and they're running fast out of the gates this year. They worked with writer-producer team Simon Perry (Bonnie McKee, Echo & the Bunnymen) and Dave Thomas Jr. to record their first EP. ReverbNation CONNECT Manager Joel Ford produced their cover of Jesus Jackson's "Running on Sunshine," which was placed on the 2015 season finale of Grey's Anatomy. ReverbNation CONNECT also secured a sync placement for their song "Whiplash" on the second season of MTV's Finding Carter.

Jaye Bartell

After doing a successful tour as support for folk wizardess Angel Olsen, Jaye Bartell moved from Asheville, NC to Brooklyn, where he quickly linked up with Reverbnation CONNECT. We pitched his demos to Omnian Music Group / Captured Tracks / Sinderlyn and they immediately offered him a multiple record deal, including a reissue of his past work, Loyalty which came out October 30, 2015. Jaye's follow up LP is nearing completion and we're all looking forward to its unveiling in 2016.

CFCF

ReverbNation CONNECT's PR team secured an exclusive album premiere via Hype Machine for CFCF's newest album Radiance and Submissions one week before the record dropped. We then coordinated with Spotify to feature "Blanketed in Snow a Place Returned" on several playlists including "Deep Focus", and the track has over 1.7 million plays. Radiance & Submission by Montreal's CFCF is a mesmerizing soundtrack to any plane or train ride; A true ambient experience.

KAIL BAXLEY

We fell in love with KaiL Baxley immediately after hearing his latest record A Light That Never Dies. We were officially hooked after we saw his stunning live show and heard his story. A self taught musician who as a child had “dance-offs” in South Carolina with James Brown and later traveled the world as an amateur boxer, KaiL is one of the most authentic, honest and hard working artists we’ve stumbled upon. CONNECT was eager to spread the word so we first locked in an opening slot for Kail at the legendary venue Troubadour opening for Madisen Ward. His performance was so mesmerizing that he received an encore. Word of mouth about the performance lead to  several booking agents and managers reaching out the next day.

Taking advantage of the peaked curiosity, CONNECT threw a showcase for KaiL a few weeks later at The Bootleg in Los Angeles as an opener for members of Lumineers and Old Crow Medicine Show. Our team’s ability to recognize a great artist and strategically book him on shows in front of industry has helped land KaiL a respected, passionate manager and sparked conversations with major booking agencies and labels. KCRW is currently spinning him weekly and he just had a placement on the hit show Nashville.
