AN EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH KAIL BAXLEY VIA RICHARD L 'HOMMEDIEU

We've been all over singer/songwriter KaiL Baxley's soul-drenched odes and with good reason--Huffington Post has named him "Your New Favorite Artist", NPR included him in a list of "Top New Artists at SXSW", and he's received praise from American Songwriter for his graceful take on gospel, blues, and pop.

Shortly after playing a packed house at LA's Bootleg Theatre alongside members of The Lumineers and Old Crow Medicine Show, KaiL sat with Richard L'Hommedieu of Making A Scene for an exclusive interview. KaiL talks his rare friendship to soul legend James Brown, his history with soul music, and how his rough upbringing exposed him to a wide spectrum of music styles, that later influenced KaiL's genre-bending music, a sound he calls "Soul Swagger". Check out his interview below and listen to his blues-infused tune "Don't Matter To Me", which was featured on Wednesday's episode of Nashville on ABC.
